Although I have interests in many types of art, clay has been my chosen medium for many years. The raku beads and pendants that I make have allowed me to combine my love of beading and jewelry making with my love for clay I usually work spontaneously and my ideas develop as I am forming the clay. For the past couple years my ceramic work has been almost a form of meditation for me. The forms I make are simple forms. As the clay moves in some direction I try to go with it to develop the emerging form. Sometimes I add or cut clay to make undulating forms. Often I burnish the pots to give them a shiny surface without glaze. I like the pit, saggar and raku firing process for my beads and pots because I can give up the responsibility of glazing to the ceramic gods. I hope you enjoy my work.
